Penny has worked nothing short of a miracle with my horse. She saw something she liked in my very inexperienced little Connemara and has transformed him into an astonishingly accomplished eventer, currently competing at Novice BE with Penny, achieving fantastic dressage scores and completing faultless cross country rounds. At every stage her training of him has been sympathetic, thorough and totally in line with his needs and requirements. Penny makes every horse she trains so very much better than it was before and I cannot recommend her too highly.

Absolutley amazed at penny's success backing my mare. Couldn't of asked for anything more! She's done a super job with a difficult mare and I'm thrilled with the results. So pleased I sent another youngster to penny for some schooling and he is going great too. :-)

My 14 year old daughter has been having lessons with penny for a couple of years now and is currently training for her c plus pony club exams. She loves penny's approach to teaching which combines immense knowledge with an ability to communicate and just enough fun too. I think one of penny's greatest strengths is the ability to ensure even in a group lesson the whole group keeps working constantly with lots of individual feedback. No walking round in endless circles with penny!! Facilities at her yard are great.

Penny is a fantastic instructor and without her i would never be where i am today. The opportunities i have had with Penny have helped me on the road to achieving the ridden career that 5 years ago i could only have dreampt of and the time and advice Penny has given me to help me achieve this extends much further than just in an hours lesson. Penny has also taken two of my horses in for schooling and has achieved fantastic results with them. Thank you Penny!

I started training with Penny in March 2013, after buying a badly trained and highly strung horse. With her experience and skill, he has been turned round, and is turning into a very nice allrounder. Penny also improved my confidence with her encouragement, and I am kn ow jumping and competiting. Cannot praise her highly enough.

Penny is a rare riding instructor - with both a sympathetic but no nonsense approach. Pretty handy for us "older" riders whose nerves are not quite as good as they used to be! I thoroughly recommend Penny and only wish I saw her more frequently.

I have only started ridding again, after having a 22year gap, with out penny's help I would not have been able to achieve qualifying for three champion ships this year, penny also rides my little chap once a week to also train him as he is only 6, and what with me being slightly stiff and forgotten certain bits it is helping him learn the correct way, so enables me a much more easier job, I really don't know what we would have done without her, nor will we ever never use her amazing help so thank you xx

Penny has been teaching me for about nine months and has taken me from a hesitant rider who occasionally jumped to a confident rider who is aiming to do their first BE80. She has achieved the same for me in flatwork with my second horse. The improvement in both horses and rider is testament to her excellent teaching and interesting lessons.

If you are thinking about using Penny for tuition, don't think about it - just DO IT, you won't be disappointed!!! At the end of 2012/early 2013 I totally lost my confidence to the point where just getting on made me sick to my stomach (totally rider issues - my handsome boy hadn't actually done anything wrong other than to react to my nerves) Penny has worked miracles - and I am now back to riding more confidently than ever before. Penny initially took over some of the riding and got me to ride after she had ridden and slowly tipping the balance so that I did all the riding. She was brilliant at reading how I was feeling and pushed me enough on the days I needed it and held back on the not so good days. She has helped me set goals for dressage and jumping and tailored the training to ensure I was able to achieve them. As a coach she is so knowledgeable and has so much experience to offer for a wide variety of problems. What has been so helpful for me is Penny has got me really thinking about my horses' way of going, how is he going? what needs to change? how can I as a rider effect that change? All to often instructors bark instructions at you and you don't really understand what is happening and why and then when you are on your own you don't have a clue what you need to do. Now 18 months or so on and things are going so well for my boy and I. We are out competing regularly, have represented our riding club in team competitions which has led to two qualifications for two National Championships and qualified and took part in the unafiliated dressage championships at Hickstead. All this I wouldn't have dreamed possible a few months earlier. Thank you Penny for all your help, support and encouragement, we couldn't have donw it without you. Mx

Penny has taught my daughters all three of them for many years. She has great patience and understands their individual needs. She has had many ponies and horses to train with my daughters all of them with different problems. Penny has taken time with each of my girls and manage to bring my daughter from walk and trot dressage when he was a 4 year old and unable to canter to Novice level at Hickstead. She can identify the problem areas in rider and horse and works on them throughout the lessons, and gives little tasks to work on in between lessons. Penny has great knowledge and enthusiasm and always gets the best out of the horse and rider.

I leave EVERY lesson feeling like I have achieved the goal set at the start of each lesson. Penny listens to me and my horse and works us accordingly to gain the best results from the pair of us. Her knowledge is a amazing and she has the ability to share that knowledge at every level. I thoroughly enjoy my lessons with her whether it be Flatwork, SJ or XC. I have even been out and competed in some local dressage competitions! - something I thought that I would never do, all has only been possible with Penny's training, encouragement and support. x

Penny has been teaching my daughter for just over 3 years and I honestly believe you could not ask for more in an instructor. Her dedication, hard work and enthusiasm come through in every lesson and time never gets in the way of ensuring progress is made. Penny's knowledge and sympathetic approach have been invaluable to my daughters progression and she has played a huge part in helping my daughter bring on two young horses with great success. I could not recommend Penny highly enough.

Wow!!!!!! You really couldn't find a better Mentor, coach or instructor. Penny has taught my son for just over a year, in that time he has gone from wanting to pony race never having left the ground, too now having his heart set on eventing. You will always find her in the yard mucking out, having already ridden. The hard work and dedication shows, in not only her own horses, but also in the horses and clients she teaches, patients and sympathetic riding is key, always allowing the horse and rider time to develop. She will never hurry you as a rider or the horse and will always finnish what she's set out to achieve in the lesson. Reiterating things in many different ways, in order to get you as the rider to feel whats happening and thinking for yourself. Ultimately giving you the tools to go away and achieve the same. You cant fail to progress and always come away confident about what you have achieved, eager recreate. Since my sons lessons, I personally have been brave enough, with Penny's help and support to bring on a youngster, something I would never have believed I could do, until meeting her. Along side the riding, If my son takes away anything I hope it's her dedication, hard work, patients and attitude towards horses, her own goals and those of her clients. As I believe with this attitude anything is possible.

I have been taught by Penny for twelve years, on two very different horses. She is extremely knowledgeable and always makes you feel that you are improving as a horse and rider combination. She offers sensible advice and goes for simplicity to solve problems, not gadgets. She never rushes you in a lesson and will wait patiently until you achieve what you have set out to do, however long it takes. Her approach is very up to date, questioning, checking for understanding and empowering the rider to ride their own evasions and problems as they happen. I have done a huge variety of exercises in my lessons, flatwork, jumping, grid work and dressage. She is imaginative in her presentation of each lesson. I am not always very confident but she builds up the skill in such a way that I don't even realise that I am out of my normal comfort zone until we sum up the lesson at the end. This is what it is all about, improving and enjoyment in a supportive environment. Thanks Penny!

I have been having lessons with Penny for many years. I like Penny's unhurried approach to my training. I always come away having made good progress and Penny gives me things to work on between lessons, but not too much, just one key area each time. Sometimes she even gives ME exercises to work on to improve my position, for example we did a lot of work with a gym ball to deepen and soften my seat. Her approach is simple but effective and she has stripped problems down with my current youngster and then carefully and patiently built back up, always making progress and my horse and myself gaining confidence. Penny will not bombard you with technical jargon, instead she will help you to understand what your horse is doing and how to improve it, and this I find very empowering. She is extremely sympathetic to the training needs of the horse, and does not rush them or ask unfair questions, especially when dealing with youngsters. I have a lot of trust in Penny and respect her recommendations and training methods and above all I look forward to my lessons and feel proud of what good progress she has helped me to achieve! Thanks Penny!
