Biog & More Information

Undertaking an Equine career after completing my A-level’s, has enabled me to widen my knowledge and create new opportunities and ideas. I am relatively new to the sport of eventing, but I have become instantly hooked. Meeting four-star event rider and BE accredited trainer ‘John Marsden’ at college and later grooming for him at Weston Park International Horse Trails 2007, I would never have thought I would have been in his employment a year later. As soon as I finished my A-level studies, I started on Johns yard. Five years later and I am still loving every minute, learning something new every day. I would have never have thought I would be riding in my first advanced after just three seasons eventing, or even contemplated riding such great horses which I have had the honour in competing with this season.

For the past five years I have been based in Cheshire on John Marsdens International eventing yard, I am 100% committed to my equine work here and the horses I compete.

I am now 24 years and driving towards a dream of making it to the top. In my first professional year I have achieved a catalogue of top results on horses of various levels and ability; I have done this through hard work and determination. In addition I am ensuring I have professional qualifications and beyond achieving my BHSAI and UKCC Level 2 at the age of 19, I have also studied part time to be graduated with a foundation degree in Equine Science and Management at Reaseheath College last summer. As well as completing my BHSII this year, I have applied to top-up to a BA this autumn via distance learning at Warwickshire College.

I was very privileged  to have been selected to be on the Excell Talent Programme last year, aswell as being part of the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS). These programmes are Lottery Funded through Sport England and I will receive top class training and support, from both human and equine nutritionists, psyhsio’s, sport psychologists and coaches. This is a step on the pathway to world-class selection and maybe one day winning medals for my country.
I am 24, self-employed and living my dream, on a quest to reach the top of my sport.

Ty has made a significant difference, over only a few lessons, to my daughter's show jumping skill and confidence. He has keen observational skills, a wonderful manner, and adapts quickly to what he observes. He gives clear explanation and excellent advice. Highly recommended indeed.

My daughter (17) has been having jumping lessons with Tyler since April and we cannot recommend him highly enough. Our horse's jumping has been transformed, and my daughter's confidence and technique has improved beyond recognition. Tyler combines considerable expertise with the ability to work with the individual's needs; he inspires, encourages, and remains consistently positive throughout ensuring success for both horse and rider. We feel very lucky to have found him.

Tyler is a rare breed of professional who not only is a superb horseman, but has excellent people skills which means he can understand your individual needs. If you want someone to teach horse, rider or combination I have no hesitation in providing a 5* reference. Sue:-)
